Every animal who comes through FMAR needs more than food, shelter, and veterinary care. They need people. People to walk dogs, comfort nervous cats, clean kennels, help at events, take photos, raise funds, foster vulnerable animals, and lend their skills wherever they're needed.
Whether you can give a few hours a week or help behind the scenes from time to time, volunteering with FMAR gives you the opportunity to make a real, hands-on difference for animals waiting for their next chapter.
Dog Barn
Help make shelter life a little brighter for our dogs! Volunteers provide walks, exercise, enrichment, socialization, and plenty of one-on-one attention while helping our dogs build the skills and confidence they need to find their families.
Cat Haven
Social Media & Content
Put your creativity to work for the animals! Help capture photos and videos, create engaging content, and share the personalities and stories of our animals. Sometimes one great photo or post is all it takes to help someone fall in love.
Spend time caring for and connecting with our feline residents! Volunteers help with cleaning, feeding, enrichment, and socialization while giving each cat the comfort and attention they need as they wait for a home of their own.
Grounds Maintenance
Help keep FMAR safe, welcoming, and running smoothly! From landscaping and seasonal cleanup to small maintenance projects and general upkeep, handy volunteers help care for the space our animals call home while they're waiting for families.

Bottle Drive Program
Turn returnables into resources for our animals! Volunteers help collect, sort, transport, and return donated bottles and cans through FMAR's ongoing Bottle Drive—a simple, hands-on way to help raise funds for the animals in our care.
